Lyses ongoing journey to design unity

Imagine a group of people that are making a cake for everyone to share. Sounds easy right? Until you realize everyone in the kitchen wants to do it differently, use their own decorations and choose the colour of the frosting. And to make things worse, there is that one “ive stopped eating gluten” guy in the group.
That's more or less how the story has been, working with a technical inner source design system in one of Norway’s biggest energy and telecom company, Lyse. This is a story of all the times we have tried, failed, and iterated. And how we eventually made a proper value proposition that got resources, and the green light to start building the Lyse multi brand design system “Form”.
This talk is a sneak peek behind the curtain of the Form Design System project, showing how we got together and created v1.0 and how product teams now are adapting towards design unity.
Join us to hear about our journey, the ups and downs, and how we managed to create a system that works smoothly for everyone. It's a story of finding our way through a maze, with plenty of laughs and BIG lessons learned about making a design system in Lyse.
After some years working as a graphic designer, I transitioned into the realm of UI/UX design, more specifically into the world of design systems. What excites me about design systems is that I can combine my eye for visual appeal with a strategic focus on enhancing usability and accessibility.
